# We Opened Company Accounts at Five Exchanges and Ranked Them

> Onboarding, settlement in the company name, access controls and exportable records. Fees were the smallest difference.

We ran the same evaluation at five exchanges with the same company and scored them on what actually determines whether a venue works for a business. We ran these measurements with [a licensed crypto exchange with corporate accounts](https://collectnexchange.com/services/crypto-exchange) as one of the points of comparison.

## Onboarding

Two days, four days, eleven days, nineteen days, and one decline.

The two fastest published the document list up front so everything went in at once. The slow ones requested documents sequentially.

## Settlement in the company name

Three could settle to an account in the company's registered name.

Two could only settle to an account matching the verified individual, which makes them unusable for a company. We discovered this at the withdrawal stage rather than at onboarding.

Ask this first. It eliminates more venues than anything else.

## Access controls

We configured multiple users with distinct permissions and tested the controls.

Three supported separate logins with role-based permissions, withdrawal allowlists with a delay, and approval separate from initiation.

One supported separate logins with the same permissions for everyone.

One had a single login with no sub-users at all, which is unsuitable for a company balance of any size.

## Exportable records

We exported a month of activity and attempted reconciliation.

Two produced a complete export that loaded into accounting software without editing.

Two produced exports missing fee values in fiat, requiring reconstruction.

One produced a report that was not machine readable.

## Depth

We measured effective cost on a mid-sized order at each.

Within a range of about 0.2 percentage points across four of them. The fifth was materially worse, which was visible in the displayed depth beforehand. At company scale the measurement changes, and [an exchange that publishes its full fee schedule](https://collectnexchange.com/) is what we compared against there.

## Fees

Between 0.1 and 0.26 percent taker, declining with volume at all five.

The smallest difference on the list, and the one most comparison articles lead with.

## The ranking that emerged

The two venues we would use scored well on onboarding, company-name settlement, access controls and records. Neither had the lowest fee.

The venue with the lowest fee could not settle to the company account, which made every other characteristic irrelevant.

## What we would tell a business

Run this as a supplier selection, not as a download. Six questions in one email eliminates most of the field, and a full deposit-trade-withdraw-export cycle at the finalists takes a week and tells you what a year of reading comparisons would not. For a working reference against everything above, [a regulated crypto exchange](https://collectnexchange.com/services/crypto-exchange) publishes the equivalent terms.
